Sometimes the world looks better from horseback. This horse and bare back rider have found a quiet space to share.

Wire lends itself perfectly to expressing movement and the spirit of the animals I love. I use different thickness of wire according to the size of sculpture I want to make but I don’t often have a fixed plan. I prefer to work things out as I go along. The pieces start out as an amorphous tangle but I compress the wire and sew it together and gradually the shape solidifies in my hand. This slight stiffening and coming to life is a very similar feeling to the “contact” I have with my real life horse through my hand and rein.
I’m just working it out. Maybe I will, maybe I wont.
